Plenty of streamers go live on Twitch and YouTube at once, and then spend the stream flicking between two chats that move at different speeds. Combined Chat puts both in one window, lets you answer both, and gives you one overlay with both chats for your stream.
That's it. Lines from each platform are marked with its colour, in the order they arrive. If you add your YouTube channel before you go live, Combined Chat waits and connects to the stream's chat once it starts, usually within a minute or two, so you can set it up before a stream and leave it.
YouTube chat has its own kind of support, and it shows up properly next to Twitch's.
Sign in with Twitch and with YouTube and the box under chat can send to either or both. The chips next to it show where a message will go.
YouTube is stricter about this than Twitch, so it's worth knowing the limits before you rely on it:
Twitch has none of those limits. The hover menu on a Twitch message (press and hold on a phone) has Reply, and as the streamer or a moderator you can delete messages, time people out and ban from the same menu, or use Twitch's commands in the box. Moderating YouTube chat still happens in YouTube's own chat or YouTube Studio.
The overlay builder makes one OBS browser source with Twitch and YouTube chat together. Enter both channels, set the font, size and colours while you watch a live preview, and paste the link into a Browser source. The OBS overlay guide goes through it step by step.
Turn on platform icons so viewers can tell a YouTube message from a Twitch one. If you'd rather your Twitch stream showed only Twitch chat, make two overlays, one for each platform, and use them in separate scenes or place them apart. Twitch's written rules still say not to show other platforms' chat on your Twitch stream, though Twitch said in February 2026 it would stop acting on that. The Twitch combined chat rules page has the details, including what is still a grey area.
Set up a share link in settings and anyone can open both chats with your channels already connected, no account needed to read. That's useful for a moderator who works on Twitch but wants to keep an eye on YouTube chat as well.
Streaming to Kick or Rumble too? They join the same window and the same overlay the same way. The setup guide covers all four, and the Twitch and Kick guide covers that pair.
Open Combined Chat, add your Twitch channel name and your YouTube handle, and both chats appear in one window. Nothing to install and no account needed to read.
Yes. The overlay builder makes one browser source with both chats, with platform icons so viewers can tell them apart. You can also make one overlay per platform.
Yes, after signing in with YouTube. Messages are limited to 200 characters, and each person can send a limited number a day, because Google gives the whole site one shared daily allowance.
Yes. Super Chats and Super Stickers show with their amount, and new members and membership milestones are highlighted, next to Twitch subs and raids.
Not yet. Deleting messages, timeouts and bans work on Twitch and Kick. On YouTube, moderate from YouTube's own chat or YouTube Studio.
