How to combine Twitch, Kick, YouTube and Rumble chat when multistreaming

If you multistream to more than one platform, or watch someone who does, you end up switching between tabs and missing half the conversation. This guide covers reading all four chats in one place.

What you need

A browser. Nothing to install, and no account required to read chat. Combined Chat runs as a website, so it works on a laptop, a phone, a tablet, or a second monitor next to your streaming PC.

Reading chat from all four platforms

1. Open the app and enter the Twitch channel name, for example xqc. It is the name in the channel URL, not the display name.
2. Enter the Kick channel name in the second box. These are often the same but not always, since plenty of streamers had to pick a different name on Kick.
3. For YouTube, enter either the channel handle starting with @, or the eleven-character video ID from a live stream URL. The video ID is more reliable, because a handle only works while that channel is actually live.
4. For Rumble, a channel name will not work, because Rumble blocks channel lookups. Open the live stream on Rumble, click the popout chat button above the chat, and paste the URL of the window that opens. It looks like rumble.com/chat/popup/448418678 and changes each time they go live.
5. Press Connect. Messages from all four appear in one feed, colour-coded by platform, with badges and emotes rendered as they appear natively.

Emotes and badges

Third-party emotes work without any setup. BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ and 7TV emotes render inline for both Twitch and Kick, using each channel's own emote set as well as the global ones.

Badges come through with real artwork rather than generic icons. That includes Twitch subscriber and moderator badges, Kick subscriber tiers, level badges and collectables, YouTube membership badges with each channel's own member art, and Rumble badges.

Sending messages and moderating

Reading chat needs no account. Logging in with Twitch or Kick lets you send messages to either platform from the same box, and moderate if you already have those powers on the channel. Combined Chat never grants permissions you do not already have; actions run as your own account through each platform's official API.

Handling spam

Some chats, particularly on Kick, involve people sending the same line repeatedly. Repeated messages from the same person collapse into a single line with a counter, so eight copies of the same emote take one row instead of eight. Different people saying the same thing stay separate, because that is information rather than noise.
