Rumble chat, in the same window as everything else

Rumble is the platform most multistream chat tools skip. Combined Chat reads Rumble live chat in the same feed as Twitch, Kick and YouTube, with no login and nothing to install. Type the channel name and it connects.

Why most tools skip Rumble

Rumble's official Live Stream API is keyed to one creator and only exposes that creator's own channel, a few dozen messages at a time. That works for a streamer reading their own chat and for nothing else. It cannot serve a viewer, a moderator, or anyone watching a channel they do not own, so tools built on it either leave Rumble out or make it creator-only.

What Combined Chat does

• Takes a channel name, works out which stream is live right now, and connects to it. No stream ids or chat links to copy.
• Reads the same live chat stream Rumble's own player uses, so messages arrive as they are posted rather than on a polling delay.
• Attaches on its own when the channel goes live. Leave a Rumble channel added while it is offline and chat starts within about a minute of the stream beginning, with nothing to re-enter for each new stream.
• Shows Rumble's own badge artwork next to usernames.
• Shows the current viewer count on the channel's chip, if you turn that on in settings.
• Needs no Rumble account and no login to read chat.
• Puts Rumble messages in the same feed as Twitch, Kick and YouTube, colour-coded by platform, and in the OBS overlay.

How to connect a Rumble chat

In the Rumble box, type the channel name as it appears in the channel's URL, for example grahamallen from rumble.com/c/grahamallen or rumble.com/user/grahamallen, and press Add. That is the whole setup. Both kinds of Rumble address work, since some accounts live under /c/ and some under /user/.

If you would rather point at one specific stream, pasting a popout chat link (rumble.com/chat/popup/...) still works. That link identifies a single broadcast rather than the channel, so it stops working when the next stream starts. The channel name does not have that problem.

What Rumble does not get yet

Rumble chat is read-only in Combined Chat for now. Sending messages and moderating are available on Twitch and Kick, where the platforms provide the means to do it on your behalf. Rumble does not offer that to third-party tools in a way that works for anyone other than the channel owner.

Do I need a Rumble account to read Rumble chat?

No. Reading Rumble chat in Combined Chat needs no login on any platform.

Can I just type the Rumble channel name?

Yes. Enter the name from the channel's URL and press Add. Combined Chat finds the current live stream itself.

What happens when the channel goes live on a new stream?

Nothing you need to do. If the channel is added, chat attaches on its own within about a minute of the stream starting.

Can I send messages to Rumble chat from Combined Chat?

Not yet. Rumble chat is read-only. Sending and moderating work on Twitch and Kick.

Do Rumble badges show up?

Yes, with Rumble's own artwork.

Does Rumble chat work in the OBS overlay?
